The Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project of Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties (CTSIP) is a volunteer organization of regional community leaders who have dedicated themselves to promoting sustainability in our region by providing data on the inter-related nature of social equity, the economy and the environment. The main focus since 2000 has been to produce a report on the overall health of the Central Texas region. This document provides data about the community in the form of individual indicators which track vital statistics affecting the sustainability of our region. An emerging new focus of the SIP is to facilitate the use of this data as a tool for education and decision making.
We are pleased to announce the publication of our sixth annual report, titled Biennial Data Report 2006. It includes historical and current data about Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. These data are presented as individual indicators organized in nine categories: Demographics, Public Safety, Education and Children, Social Equity, Civic Engagement, Economy, Health, Environment, and Land Use/Mobility.
